Paul,

Could I take you up on the offer of the War diaries lookup?  Is it just the Prince of Wales' Own - West Yorkshire Regiment that you the information on and for which world wars? I have searched the commonwealth war graves commission website so have some information, but anything else that can be added would be great:

Cyril Henry Langrick - Private W Yorkshire Regiment, 10th Btn, No. 43408, died 07/11/1916

Any other 'Langrick' information would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you for your kind offer, I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Clare

Best wishes,

Thanks a lot Mary A, tied in a few lose ends nicely!  I'd love any Langrick's born in South cave if that's not too much trouble. ;)

Dave

Just to let you know that Long Drax on the East/North Yorkshire border near Selby used to be called Langrick.  I married into the Langrick family from South Cave originally came from Langrick/Long Drax and have been researching them ever since!

I've just checked and on OS maps Long Drax it is still referred to as Langrick in brackets.  Hope this helps and ties in with your research. ;D

Hi, I would be grateful for any information on Langrick's in South Cave in the 1851 census, in particular:

Robert Langrick b1810, South Cave
Alice Langrick (nee Rudston) b1810, place unknown

I know they had 3 children;
Betsey langrick b1836, South Cave (married William Lockwood)
Jane Langrick b1839, South Cave (married John William bee)
John Langrick b1851, South Cave (probably born after census)

But I think they may also have had a son, James Langrick

I'm also looking for:
Richard Langrick b1815, South Cave
Amelia Langrick (nee Button) b1815, Howden
I'm pretty sure Amelia died and then Richard emmigrated and strated the line of Langrick's in the US but I'm not sure when.

Any help with the Langrick's is much appreciated.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) Lookup Requests / Re: 1871 look up - LANGRICK
« on: Thursday 13 July 06 15:41 BST (UK)  »
Thank you so much Bee!

I have found his parents in my tree and have managed to tie up a lot of loose ends.  I have even found them in the 1881 cnesus now, under Languck instead of Langrick; I have come across numerous alternative spellings for Langrick, but never that one!

You've really made my day.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) Lookup Requests / 1871 look up - LANGRICK
« on: Thursday 13 July 06 13:46 BST (UK)  »
Really stumped on a single line of this tree and was wondering if anyone could do a 1871 lookup for the following:

Herbert Fletcher Langrick b1862, South Cave

I think he has a sister, but she may not be on the census;

Florence Langrick b1871, South Cave??

I would love to know who his parents were!  Any help much appreciated.

« on: Friday 09 June 06 12:14 BST (UK)  »

Have just been searching Free BMD and came across a marriage in a distanct part of my tree, but I have a choice of two names for his wife.  Is it possible to work out who he married without purchasing the certificate?

The information I have:
William Henry LANGRICK m Alice Mary A SKINNER/Jenny Maud WILLIAMS
West Ham 4a p542, 1906 (Dec)

Many thanks, Clare
