Hi, I would be grateful for any information on Langrick's in South Cave in the 1851 census, in particular:

Robert Langrick b1810, South Cave
Alice Langrick (nee Rudston) b1810, place unknown

I know they had 3 children;
Betsey langrick b1836, South Cave (married William Lockwood)
Jane Langrick b1839, South Cave (married John William bee)
John Langrick b1851, South Cave (probably born after census)

But I think they may also have had a son, James Langrick

I'm also looking for:
Richard Langrick b1815, South Cave
Amelia Langrick (nee Button) b1815, Howden
I'm pretty sure Amelia died and then Richard emmigrated and strated the line of Langrick's in the US but I'm not sure when.

Any help with the Langrick's is much appreciated.

Really stumped on a single line of this tree and was wondering if anyone could do a 1871 lookup for the following:

Herbert Fletcher Langrick b1862, South Cave

I think he has a sister, but she may not be on the census;

Florence Langrick b1871, South Cave??

I would love to know who his parents were!  Any help much appreciated.

Reference Library / 1901 Leftovers: Grimwood or Greenwood?
« on: Thursday 13 April 06 23:12 BST (UK)  »
Have just finished transcribing my first 1901 census page.  I was a bit unsure on a couple of points so had a look on 1901census online to see what their transcribers had written and came across a bit of a problem.

A surname I had entered as Grimwood, they have as Greenwood.  Having grown up in Suffolk I know there are a lot of Grimwood's, especially in Ipswich.  I have attached the name for people's opinions.  For me there looks to be a dot, suggesting an i and therefore Grimwood.  Any thoughts on what I should enter in my leftovers spreadsheet appreciated.

Suffolk / Ratliff jewellers, High Street, Ipswich
« on: Wednesday 12 April 06 17:35 BST (UK)  »
Wondered if anyone has any information/photos/trade directories of Ratliff's jewellers at 1 High Street, Ipswich?

My 2xgreat grandfather, Charles Harold Ratliff, was a jeweller along with his youngest brother Ernest.  Charles & his family lived at 1 High Street, Ipswich in the 1901 census.  I also have a Kelly's 1900 (I think!) trade directory entry as Ratliff Bros. jewellers.

There was also another brother, James, who I believe became a watchmaker, so perhaps he was involved as well?

Any information greatly received as, although born in Stowmarket, I now live in East Yorkshire so getting to the records office in Ipswich is rather difficult!

Many thanks

Any information on RATLIFF'S (sometimes spelt Ratcliff(e)) would be much appreciated.
