Australia / Re: Cheap NSW BDM transcriptions
« on: Sunday 11 October 09 08:23 BST (UK)  »
I found out about the discount after receiving my transcription, but Marilyn goes the extra mile!

She supplied a 1975 death transcription and even provided the telephone number of someone with the same surname living in the same road as the deceased. Turns out it was the son, my cousin.

I was able to ring him, enabling me to speak to him for the first time since 1955 when he was living in Henley on Thames.

Australia / Campbelltown NSW burial
« on: Saturday 03 October 09 08:23 BST (UK)  »
I have just received a death transcription for William Henry Rust, buried 11 Nov 1975 St Peters church cemetery Campbelltown NSW.

Is there any way of finding out if his widow, Sarah Josephine, was buried there as it will be quite a few years before her death will appear on NSW released records?

They were living in Toggerai Street, Appin, NSW.

All pointers greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your help. On FindMyPast they are down as Langbrin in 1881 and Lamgbein in 1891. As for the m-in-law, the poor woman is down as Villianne in 1881 and Villarino in 1891, and you've revealed, Tati, that she is down as Vuillaume in 1871!

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Victor Langbein 1891 census?
« on: Friday 25 September 09 15:56 BST (UK)  »
Victor Radcliffe Langbein married Frances New in 1902. I have found them in 1911 at Southville Road, Wandsworth.

In trying to trace Victor's past I have found him in 1901 (age 29) with his mother Maria (55) and brother Oscar (32) at 77 Studley Road, Lambeth. Both 1911 & 1901 show his birthplace as South Lambeth.

Can anyone see them on 1891 or 1881 census as I have tried variations on FindMyPast but they do not seem to be listed?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the warning Cando. I will put this on hold until I hear from the other two listed by Les de B.

Thank you all.

I have heard back from one of the transcription companies and they have quoted 10 dollars and accept credit cards. I don't have a credit card and am waiting for confirmation that a debit card will also be accepted.

When I get the emailed details from them (less chance of them going astray) I will then send an email to the newspaper to see if I can locate anyone that knew of her and their family.

As well as locating the burial place for William Rust I am hoping that I can discover if Sally was interred at the same place, and would be over the moon if I could also make contact with any of their descendants. Would they still be cousins, whatever the generation?

Thank you for that Just Moi.

It is the Campbelltown in NSW that Aunt Sally moved to. I tried looking at the link to NSW cemeteries but found the list overwhelming as there were so many areas in NSW, none visibly connected with Campbelltown.

I will email your Campbelltown NSW link and see if they can tell me what area their cemeteries are in.

Thank you Cando, I will give it a try.

Update.
A bit overwhelming - is there any way of working out what area/ district Campbelltown would come under, there are so many.

I have sent an email to one of the transcription agencies. Hopefully this will provide further info to get an enquiry put in the newspaper maybe jogging somebody's memory.

Thank you for that Daily Telegraph lead Les.

You are a mine of very useful information. I do not know what I would do without your help.
