Yes it is now just called st Mary's but was St Mary's the Virgin.Their names where John Thomas Hall and Harriet Kershaw

« on: Sunday 17 January 10 18:43 GMT (UK) »Hi,:)I have looked this up and I have also found a St Mary's The Virgin in Oldham which comes under the same parish which would make a lot more sense than going all the way to Prestwich from Tonge.Could anyone tell me if I am going the right way!!
The Parish church of Prestwich was St. Mary the Virgin, Prestwich. Henry Mildred Birch the Rector was quite an important person and listed at one time as Rector of the Parish of Prestwich and Oldham.
One way of finding out is to go to www.lancashirebmd.org.uk and enter the details for the marriage it should give you the church they married at.

I have always been told that my Dads Dad play for Portsmouth but have never been able to find out anything,I have now found a photo of him wearing a Portsmouth shirt and picture of Portsmouth's Cup Tie January 1914.My Grandad's name was Joseph Hall he was born 4th November 1889 and lived in Middleton,Lancashire all his life and served in WW1.Hope someone can help thank you
