Europe / Where Was He From ?
« on: Monday 14 September 20 00:55 BST (UK)  »
HI
I have seen church records of a Hubert Buch/Bug who married a Gertrude Reichardt on the 7th August 1690 at Hallgarten Hessen Nassau his father is given as Nicholius mother ?? Christina not sure Gertrude's parents, father William/Wilhelmus and mother Anna, unfortunately part of the film was blackened out and I could not make out where Hubert came from, it was not from Hallgarten but the name started with Ober which is very common and even then I am not sure. I had even written away to Bischofliches Ordinariat Limburg but all i got back was the information that I had already given them.
Still after 20years I can not find out where Hurbert Buch/Bug came from or if his wife was indeed Christina.
Appreciate any help or advise to solve this problem for me

Shropshire Lookup Requests / Shropshire to Gloucestershire
« on: Sunday 16 August 20 05:46 BST (UK)  »
I have a William Parker and wife Martha who had children from 1720 to 1727 at Coln St Aldwyns Gloucestershire after that they disappear the only marriage that comes close is one at Bromfield St Mary the Virgin on the 11 April 1720 both of Acton Scott about 87 miles away who were a  William Parker and a Martha Copestack and I could not find any children in Bromfield born to this couple. There may be a possibility they traveled from where they got married Bromfield which is another 10 miles closer to Coln St Aldwyns and started their family in Gloucestershire.
Could anyone help with finding children from 1720 in Shropshire for William Parker and Martha if none than I may have a chance that they may also be my distant Grandparents.
Thank you for any help or advice.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Electoral Rolls
« on: Friday 14 August 15 05:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi
I am doing some research for my wife who has early dementia and i am hoping that some kind person may have access to the Electoral Rolls.
I have a marriage of a Bridget Whelan born about 1818 in Ireland, has been married twice once in Ireland in 1840 and the second in Kapunda South Australia 1852 if this is the same women she has married for a third time to James Carroll in 1871 Tuimata which i believe is Auckland both are widowed the marriage took place in Bridget's house.
I can not seem to place any Bridget with a James Carroll in the Electoral Rolls but a James Carroll does appear in a town named Hokitiki and that town is where my wife's Bridget has a married daughter Catherine Martha McCormack living in Hokitika by 1876.

Did find a death of a Bridget Carroll 1888 born about 1818 but no place mentioned, will get the certificate but can not expect too much information from that.

Maybe I am clutching at straws but I was hoping there may be something in the Electoral Rolls to help, appreciate any help what so ever

Gloucestershire Lookup Requests / Marriage Certificates
« on: Tuesday 09 December 14 06:17 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
I purchased a marriage Certificate of my G/G/Grandparents some time back and found out that it was quite confusing as there were two certificates made for the same marriage only my G/G/Grandfather's christian name was stated on one as Daniel Poole and the other as Thomas Poole  both married to Matilda Parker
The Certificate on Daniels had his father as Thomas and where Daniel was to sign his name  it was signed as Thomas.
I believe Daniel's father was John??
Would I be wasting my time if I purchased the second Marriage Certificate or would it just have the same information I already have?

Daniel in some census stated his name as Daniel and as time went on he states his name as John.

I know that his son who was George also had two Marriage Certificates to his name but this time it was surnames and the reason being was that George was born two years before Matilda and Daniel married.I can understand this as Matilda christened George under her maiden name but there was a Birth Certificate stating the father's name as John Poole.

Any suggestion or help would be appreciated.

Dorset Lookup Requests / Child Okeford 1805
« on: Monday 27 October 14 03:45 GMT (UK)  »
Hi
Could anyone help me with a small problem I have a Harry Warr born 31 October 1806 Child-Okeford parents being James Warr and Rebecca Kearly[var] Harry was then baptised 1807 at Tarrant Keyston and i have never found that family again
Also there was a baptism for a Sarah Kerley West 12 June 1805 at Child-Okeford parents being James West and  Rebecca, i don't know if the name West should have been Warr as i have looked for a marriage for a James West and Rebecca and have found nothing
These may be two different families but as i can not get any B.D.M before 1812 for Child-Okeford maybe someone can.
Appreciate any advise to prove one way or the other if these two children are siblings.

Somerset / West Cranmore no Surname
« on: Thursday 23 January 14 02:50 GMT (UK)  »
Hi There
I have just found a christening for a Daniel ? 8/5/1814 at West Cranmore Parish, parents were given as John and Lydia but no surname.
Is there a possibilty that someone could find out what this surname could be.
I have been looking for the name of Pooll or Poole etc
This person could be my G/G/Grandfather Daniel Poole born about 1814 parents were John and Lydia so there is a slight chance this could be the one.

Really appreciate help or advice of how to find out his surname

Colin
