Have now found 3 children that could be from Tilley Rook and Charles Schmidt.

But they show them as Matilda Rook and Charles Smith.

The 3 birth occure in the 4 years following their marriage so is a good possability.

And all born in Jamestown were they were married.

Yes Elizabeth born in 1890 is my grandmother and William who died in 1891 is her father, my great grand father.

Unfortunatly I haven't been able to back from them but will keep trying.

Hi Ally. I will check out those sites you mentioned.

Hi Sid. David was married in Port Pirie and Tilley was married close by in Jamestown. So seems like a real posability. Tilley sounds like an unusual name, I wonder if is an abreviation of another name.

William Rook married Mary Ellen Clarke 1878 in South Australia.

Williams father is David Rook, Mary's father is Thos Henry Clarke.

William Born abt 1855, Mary born abt 1856.

Can't find any record of them being born in Australia and Mary's death cirtificate shows her born in England.

Can't find any death info for their fathers in Australia.

Hoping to find passenger info for Mary and William to see if other family members travelled with them.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated

I have a copy of her marriage certificate in 1878 that shows her age 22 and father as Thos Henry Clarke. No mention of her mother. I haven't found any siblings.

I have a record of her death that shows mother "unknown Mary Ellen" and place of birth England.

If I can find a record of her arriving in Australia then I might find some other family members.

At this stage Mary and her husband William Rook are a bit of a stumbling block but its only early days.

Age 22 so was born about 1856

Father shown as Thos Henry Clarke

Can't find her birth in Australia so looking for  info in England.

William Rook's father shown as David
