Hi Peter, how interesting. I have Rob Roy very distantly.

Have you had a look at The History of the Clan Gregor? You can find it online and at Ancestry, and in print from various sources including Walmart, of all places!

I came across it by accident and printed out quite a few pertinent pages and followed my line with the help of a set of coloured pens. It's not easy to track. But eventually (and it was many many generations of "eventually") I found myself in the Scottish royal family, and from there I found a ton of kings and nobility. Some of them are quite horrific. The thing about royalty is not that they are special, but that they are documented. The vast majority of our ancestors come and go without any notice.

Here's one of the sources if you are interested.

Skippy, that's just amazing! I've been staring at this for quite some time, it's really something. I can almost feel Athena's fur.

My friend will love all of these. Athena was her heart and soul, and she is devastated. These photos will be a lovely memorial to her little furbaby.

Thank you so much,
China

Hiya jf, how have you been?

A cracking couple of photo treatments, very lovely! Thank you for your hard work, kind of have a French impressionist look to them  :D

Thank you again,
China

Hi Peter, these are wonderful, very sweet! Thank you for your artistry!

I see you have McGregors. Are they in Oz only or have you traced them back through Scotland? They are a fascinating (and sometimes horrifying) clan and there is much written on them.

Thank you again,
China

Hello everyone, it's been a bit since I've been on here. Hope all is well.

A friend recently had to say goodbye to her beloved kitty, and I was hoping one of our magic restorers might be able to remake a photo. Athena was a white/beige cat and as such I'm not sure she'd have a lot of definition. But I was hoping someone could make her into a watercolour-looking portrait. There are businesses that offer this sort of thing but they are at the moment unaffordable.

Please let me know what you think.

Cheers and many thanks,
China

Hi TT! They’re lovely, thanks awfully! I’m going to print them all for my friend who is now in the process of moving to a smaller place. I feel so badly for her, her husband was as sweet as he was handsome.

Thanks again Carol.
Cheers,

Thanks Peter, how very interesting! I'll have a closer look at the sources shortly. I'm not currently working on my tree, taking a little break because in a huge rush to get my major project finished before Christmas I'm a little burned out  :-\ But family history really is an obsession and I'll be back to it soon.

Many thanks again for the wonderful restoration!

Cheers,
China
