Ah ok, I thought it may have been related to a particular operation or something along those lines. Thanks for your help.

Apologies for bumping an old thread. I am just wondering what some of the initials on the service cards mean.

My grandmothers card from the WAAF has MILITIA listed at the top, followed below by her name and service number and then below that it says EJ.

I'm just wondering what the EJ stands for? I also noticed on other records that there are different initials such as CM, GS, etc.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for that, this could be a possibility as I do have quite a few Ogston's in my family tree from that area. I will have a look into it. Thanks.

I am still having trouble finding the parents of Alexander Ogston (1701-1771). If anyone has any links to this person or if anyone has any advice for me for finding links this far back it would be appreciated.

Thank you so much for your help. After speaking with a few relatives, I can definitely confirm that this is the correct family. Mary was actually my Grandad's mother and Elizabeth was her sister. Samuel was my great-great grandfather. Thanks again for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

Wow, thank you for all of this. I really appreciate it. I'm going to speak to a few relatives and see if i can confirm certain information, but it looks as though this is probably the right track. Thanks again!

Sorry, I should have mentioned in the first post. Ronald's mother never married and kept the Grundle surname and all of her children were named Grundle too.

I believe that might be the correct family as I think I recall seeing some of that census information a number of years ago but had lost it. Thank you for that. I am just trying to confirm with my mother, etc that it is the right family but I believe it is. If you do have any links to further information that would be great. Thanks again.

Thanks for the info. I have removed the other names from the original post.
