Hi

I'm looking for John william Hooper and family.

i have the 1901 census and marriage cert of his daughter daisy in 1901. And i've seen what i think could be him in the 1881 census so i'm hoping a find of him in 1891 will help this out!

On the 1901 census:

Arthur W Hooper b.1888 b.vauxhall

Ivy V. Hooper b.1892.

and names which shud appear in 1891.

Jessie Maud Hooper nee Tuley b.1861 (on census says birth in vauxhall but birth ref states as Pancras, London)

Annie M Hooper b.1883 in vauxhall , london

Daisy Maud Evans (the daughter which got married in 1901) b.1879 in vauxhall, london

Walter J Hooper b.1885 in vauxhall.

John William Hooper b.1854 in Vauxhall

I also have found the def ref for Jessie M Hooper d.1910 july-aug-sep quarter in lambeth age 49. But i havent been able to find Johns

I've found their wedding ref  m.1878 july-aug sept quarter in lambeth, surrey

and the birth ref for Jessie Maud Tuley b.1861 apr may June in pancras, London.

Hampshire & IOW Completed Lookup Requests / death look up - completed
« on: Sunday 24 September 06 23:31 BST (UK)  »
Hi

i'm having trouble finding a death reference for a young boy who died between 7 and 9 years old. Between the years of 1940 and 1950.

He was called Johnnie Kelly. Born in southampton and died on a bridge in bitterne road ( i assume its the train bridge , but it could have been northam bridge). He pushed a friend out of a car way and he got hit by the bumper and crashed into the bridge wall and died from his injuries.

I also cannot find his birth refernce. he was definatly born in southampton.between 1940 and 50. He was the youngest of 3 children the first being born in 1938. I'm going to try deaths between 50's and 60's but please could someone else take a look.

I've tried john kelly. and johnny but i cant think what other spellings of it could have been.

ALSO

Does anyone know if car crashes in the 1940's'50's were recorded? Because surely they werent common, and would of appeared in some type of paper. any suggestions which one?

« on: Saturday 23 September 06 16:20 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I'm hoping someone could tell me how to search for someone to immigrated to america in 1638 on a ship called the Diligent.

The person i'm specifically looking for is a man named Samuel Packard. b. 1612 in Stonham Aspal, Suffolk. Married in 1634 to a elizabeth stream. And emigrated in the year 1638.
He also died in Bridgewater, Maine. - died in 1684

Is there any particular way of finding out about this ship.. or anything, did they have a boarding list ?

edit: Emigrated to America with wife and daughter Elizabeth.

Laura

p.s. i've also posted this in the suffolk board

Hampshire & Isle of Wight / Surname interest - Moody/kelly and holloway
« on: Wednesday 20 September 06 18:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi, I've already posted this in the London Boards, but the name has connections in primarily southampton. Sooo... searching the name 'Moody.'

I dont know much on this side of family i'm looking for information on. I've recently met someone on GR who has only just started her side of the 'moody's,' and doesnt have much to go on as of yet.

So Trying to see if we can dig up anymore dirt on them!

Unfortunatly i'm lacking in dates at the moment. and out of money for getting my great nan sylvia's birth cert! so this is my long shot!

Father:

Alfred Moody- died in southampton. owned/ ran a fish and chip shop in east end london. lived at 80 Bitterne Road until he died.

Mother:

Lydia surname not known as of yet. no info known

children:

Lydia Moody- everything unknown except she moved to southampton with family.

Florence Eleanor Moody and Sylvia Alice Moody *(twins)  b. 1914 in London. Both married june 1935 - marriage reference suggests same day in southampton.
Sylvia married into name of kelly and died 1998, whilst florence married into simmons and died 1999and both died in southampton.

Alfred Moody - married 3 times, moved to southampton with family. died in county. One of the women married was called Mary.

Violet elizabeth Moody

*Sylvia kelly nee moody had 3 children all born in southampton. 1) sylvia died at 15 months. 2nd Gloria- married into holloway lived bitterne. 3rd john 'johnny' who died whilst pushing his friend 'roy' away from an oncoming vehicle, was hit by a bumper of a car and killed some what instantly (crashed into wall and crushed by car)... not sure what age or when abouts but from notes i assume they mean northam bridge, because thats the only bridge which is attached to bitterne road... and averagely guessing it would have been between early 40's- 70's. quite a gap i now. any suggestions on how i could possibly narrow this down on my search, or what the best sort of paper to search would be?

Just kinda hoping someone doing a moody 'hunt' recognises any names from thisor even better knew of them.... I'm gonna add information as it comes via relatives of violet.
