Would someone be able to look up a family for me please.
I'm looking for Emma Hathaway, born Jun 1848 in Eynsham, with her parents John and Mary.
She was married to Albert Harpur in Eynsham in June 1865

I guess with a possibly birth year of 1805 , my next best step would be to look at the marriage entry to see if she was a minor when she married ?
She would only have been 19 when she married Charles in 1824, so perhaps they would have marked it as minor ?
The only other way is to take each of the Sarah marriages in turn and rule them out or possibly in.
Onwards ...........

Occupation Interests / Chimney Sweep (Master) 985

Looking at my Grandfathers birth certificate from 1911, I noticed that his father's occupation is given as 'Chimney Sweep Master (985)'
I guess my questions are,
1) Was there a progression that Chimney Sweep's went through ?
2) Was there an association they would have to join ?
3) I believe he lived with his family in a mill grounds at the time. Could it be something to do with mill work rather than domestic chimneys ?
I've tried Googling but to now effect.

I got the info from a 2nd cousin's notes
Had a look at what I've put my tree from her notes and I have her :
8 Nov 1868 - Living in Whitwood Mere, Yorkshire, described as Domestic Servant. (Notes from her Marriage Cert at Featherston, West Yorks)
1871 at Terry's Buildings, Whitwood, Yorkshire
1881 - Living at 17 Old Long Row, Great Preston, Yorkshire

Does that help at all ?

Hello all
Can you help me find Sarah's parents ?
Sarah Ovenall married Thomas Harpur at Eynsham 18 May 1827. She was described as a Widow.
I found a marriage between a Charles Ovenal
and Sarah Buckingham in Eynsham on 22 Nov 1824.
I also found a burial for a Charles Ovenal on 2 Jun 1825.
My question is where did Sarah come from and who were her parents ? How do I find out ?
I believe she was born c1805, possibly Hanborough or Eynsham.
Can anyone help ?
