Durham / Lazonby Family

Hi All

Is anyone else researching this family - the main period I'm interested in is 1700-1800?
Anne Lazonby (Lainsonby Lazenby or similar) married my 5xGtGrandfather William Lindsley in 1796. The family came from Bishop Auckland.

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Woodhorn look up request

Hi All

I am trying to find Dad's baptismal record and am hoping someone going to Woodhorn would be able to do a couple of look-ups for me. Unfortunately I don't have a date for the baptism. Dad was born 13/1/1922 at Wandsworth Road, Byker so would imagine he was baptised at either St Silas or St Gabriel within 3years of that date. The record I'm looking for is James Robert Burrell father Richard Whinfield Burrell + mother Annie Burrell nee Armstrong

A copy of the actual record would be wonderful but the exact wording would be great. Unfortunately I don't get very often to Northumberland so any assistance would be a help

Durham Lookup Requests / Lamesley St Andrews PRs

Wind/Clark - 1750-1820
William Wind (pitman) m Jane Clark 27/5/1787 at St Andrews Lamesley of Cows Close + Chowden. I know there were 5 children William (Nov 1788) Eleanor (July 1791) John (Nov 1793) Jane (Oct 1796) + George -baptism shows him as 5th child (July 1800).

I am looking for the baptism for both William Wind + Jane Clark - presumably somewhere between 1750 - 1772; the BTs on familysearch only start at 1765. Any additional assistance with the death of either William or Jane would be appreciated (I have found a burial on 26/5/1817 for a William Wind but don't know if he is 'mine')

Look-ups at the St Andrews Lamesley PRs held at Gateshead Central Library and TWAS would be appreciated

Durham / Fisherman + Mariner Records

Hi All

I have recently discovered that my 5xGtGrandfather John Wilkinson was variously described as a Sailor, Mariner, Master Mariner 1795 et seq. He married Jane Shacklock (Shakelock) in 1795, in Tynemouth. Jane was the daughter of William Shacklock a fisherman - William was born c1740 according to his Marriage License in 1767.

I would love to know more about this seafaring branch of the family and wonder if anyone can tell me whether there would be any records for the period 1700 - 1850 and where I may find them. The family, I believe, were from the South Shields/Bishop Wearmouth/Monkwearmouth/Chester le Street area

Yorkshire (North Riding) / James Gilroy + Eleanor Best - Yarm PRs

I am trying to find a marriage of my 5xGtGrandfather James Gilroy - I have tried a few possibilities the latest being in Yarm, 17/5/1767 Eleanor Best.

If anyone has access to the PRs/BTs for Yarm I would appreciate either a transcript or copy of the record to try and either prove she is the right one or eliminate another.

Northumberland / James Gilroy + Jane Scott - Bedlington

I am trying to find the parents of my 4xGtMother Eleanor Gilroy - everything seemed to suggest that she came from Chester-Le-Street, born c1778, but her husband Thomas Anderson was born in Bywell and they married in Earsdon so I was never totally convinced that she came from CLS, especially as I could find no birth record for her. Changing direction I tried looking for her in Northumberland and, on familysearch, found a baptism in Bedlington 19/7/1778 parents James + Jane there is also a marriage in Bedlington of James Gilroy + Jane Scott 24/11/1777

My hope is that someone has access to Bedlington PRs/BTs or will be visiting Woodhorn and can either give me the exact transcripts or a copy of the records to hopefully remove this particular brickwall.

Durham Lookup Requests / Staindrop PRs 1760-1785 Durham County Record Office

Help!

I am trying to find children of Robert + Elizabeth Lindsley. I have 2 baptised 26/3/1774 Mary + Elizabeth. BT for Staindrop only has Mary, transcript held at Newcastle Central Library only has Elizabeth and IGI has both Mary + Elizabeth!

I am hoping that someone visiting Durham County Record Office or has access to Staindrop PRs will be able to clarify this for me.

I don't know the surname for Elizabeth as I haven't found a marriage of Robert + Elizabeth and none of the baptism's include her surname. Children found are William bapt 3/3/1768, Mary 30/12/1769 + 26/3/1774, Elizabeth 26/3/1774, Thomas 1/12/1776 + George 28/2/1779. Any other info re Robert + Elizabeth or their children would be much appreciated

Northumberland Lookup Requests / Allendale PRs - Newcastle Central Library

Hi All

My current brickwall - on this line!! - is my 4 xGtGrandfather William Heslop. I think his parents could be Cuthbert + Barbary(a) baptism 30/9/1789 BUT I have been unable to find a son for William called Cuthbert. William married Mary Armstrong at St Cuthbert's, Allendale 14/10/1815 but the first son I have found is George baptised 4/5/1823 and daughter Barbara baptised 11/6/1826 - it is unlikely, but possible, that they had to wait 10yrs for the birth of their first child. IGI was the source for the known children.

My request is a look up for any birth/baptism between 1810 (in case born out of wedlock) and 1822 at any Church in Allendale

William Lindsley baptised per IGI 24/11/1799 at Richmond, nr Leyburn is one of my brickwalls. From IGI I know that his father was William but there is no mention of his mother - hence my look-up request.
For info:-
Ann Lazonby is his elder sister Elizabeth's mother (baptised 16/3/1798 St Andrews Auckland) , Ann Robinson their younger siblings mother. I have found a marriage for William Lindsley + Ann Lazonby in St Helen's Auckland 7/1/1796 but no marriage for William Lindsley + Ann Robinson.

Any additional information to breakdown my brickwall would be appreciated
