Does anyone know where I would find burials after 1940 for this church please, I have the townships CD of burials up until then but need later information, that's if there is any. Thanks

Does anyone have an idea of what sort of delay there is posting orders out, mine has been over a week now. Obviously it's slower but just wondering how much slower

Armed Forces / Re: Boer War Medal search

Aw,  thanks so much  :D
I was in his army file on Ancestry but couldn't read it very well until I just printed it all and saw the medal listed, although it's still not very legible lol
Anyway
This is a bit of research for my father in law to read, on his grandad.  He's been locked down on his own since the start of this and I'm trying to keep him occupied, so much thanks.

Another one to save to my Ancestry home page

Armed Forces / Boer War Medal search

He must have medals for this surely?
Can't find this anywhere I normally use, Is there someone around that can help?

Private 2489 James Arnold 3rd South Lancs Regiment served in South Africa from 11/99 until 2/01
Previous service in this regiment ended in 1889 and he was recalled in 1892 so I may have his number wrong
He was born in 1862 in St Helens demobbed/discharged  to Vincent Street

Thank you

Hi and thanks for the info. I haven't looked at this for a while now so will have to refresh my memory.

I don't have a connection to this family at all except for the fact that I live very close to their old residence. I was researching all the Melling families in the area for a private history blog I was doing at the time. I'll note this down and unearth the topic again soon.  :)
