Like I said before, I don't have any local knowledge of this part of the world, so any advise or suggestions are welcome.
I looked on the 1841 census and found a William Rose aged 70 (born 1871) and wife Elizabeth 65 (1776) living in METFIELD, which as you pointed out is a bordering parish to St james. Who could be the William and Eliz (Andruss) from that record on IGI.
I'm a bit apprehensive to start adding these people to my tree, only to find out there were hundreds of Roses around at the time (I suppose the collective name for a lot of people called Rose would be a Bunch!)
