Hi there,

Iwas getting nowhere with the pervious post so I thought I would type it way it is pronounced ?????

I am looking for information on Agnes & George Alexander who used to live at 153, Fisher Heights, Monongahela.  These were relatives of mine and stayed there around 1958 or so.  Any information would be hreatly appreciated.

There is a George without Agnes on the 1920 census. It could be the younger version of your friend.
However, there is quite a bit of time between then and when you knew him and this George could have moved on to other states.
Hopefully, someone who knows them will see your post.

Thanks Val,

I would imagine that these folks would have died before I was born 1965, when you consider he was born in 1877.

With the lack of responces I was begining to think that the place name was made up, even though I had searched online for the place name.
It is either a one horse town or no one is interested in Genealogy or both.

I hope someone can pick up the thread,

Swally

Swally,  Is there a state that this address goes with?  In the US all things seem to be orgainzed by State.  I live in the US and that seems to be an odd location and i cannot even guess at a state that would be located.

Could you add the details frm your earlier post for those of us who missed it?

Hi Guys,

I looked up Monongahela, and it would appear to be in Pennsylvania, PA
It's all Greek to me, I could hardly spell it never mind pronounce it.
Any help that you can be on this subject I would be really greatful.

Best Regards,

Swally

Nutkin,

George was born in Bo'ness near Falkirk, Scotland on 3rd October 1877.
His wife was called Agnes, but I don't know her maiden name.  The last correspondance from them to my uncle would have been after the death of my Gran in 1958.  The letter is signed by Agnes but there is no mention George.........had he pegged it?
I don't know if they had any family, we can't get his marriage uptill 1924 so he either got married after this or married in the States before then.  Seemingly relatives remember them getting married over here in Scotland, so if you do the maths I would imagine that they didn't have any kids.

There again I could be wrong!!!!!!

all the best
