1841 Census - Penton Mewsey Please
« on: Tuesday 07 February 06 17:37 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for some very kind soul to do a look-up in Penton Mewsey.
I'm looking for an Elizabeth Craddock aged 30 with a son William Chivers aged 8.
Also I'd be interested in any other Chivers there in Penton Mewsey.

Thank You
Lesley

Thank You so much.
Does it say on the census the marital status of Elisabeth ?
I'm thinking she is unmarried I guess I would have to check the parish registers to find that out.
Would it be possible to give me the Chives or are there too many ?

Lesley

Baptism of a base born (by the looks of it) William Chivers in Wonston 12 Oct 1834, mother Jane.

Nothing else.

Hi Georgina,

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you.
At the moment I have not been able to find a connection but it's good to see someone else researching the Chivers.
I have a friend who is connected to the Chivers in Penton Mewsey and I will pass your message on to her and see if she knows anything.
Do you know the parents of William ?

Regards
Lesley

Hello Georgina,

I must have been blind first time I looked but I have found him now, sadly not related but this info might help you.

Baptism from Penton Mewsey Parish Records
8/5/1864 William son of Emma Chivers, Spinster
2/5/1841 Emma daughter of William and Maria Chivers

Marriages from Penton Mewsey Parish Records
Emma Chivers, Spinster, age 28 married William Martin, widower, age 30, Cater. Her father was william Chivers, his was ? Martin.

I also have details on Emma's father William, do you need that ?

Emma is related to my friend I mentioned. Incidentally incase you didn't realise this is the Emma in the 1841 census in previous message.

Best Wishes
Lesley
