I have a parish record that says
John Bryden of Bent had a daughter
. This was from the Mauchline PR's. Question is Bent a name of a farm or a town in Mauchline? There seem to be other Brydens from Bent and curious how they all match up.

Bent is a small hamlet south of Mauchline (the town that is).
Go to
http://www.streetmap.co.uk
Put Bent as a place name into the search terms box, click search and the map with it marked by an arrow will appear. If you then zoom out to get a bigger picture you will see where Bent is in relation to Mauchline.

Nell,
Thank you so much. Useful mapping site for me in the U.S. Still learning my scottish geography. Finally mastered Yorkshire, getting to Scotland, then must attempt the Ukraine. Ohhhhh the life of a family historian.
Thanks again- Kristin
