Hello
Luddington 1804, John Parker Toulson, Esq., of Skipwith married Miss Worsop, Daughter of John A Worsop, Esq., of Howden Place.
My interest is the Robert Hudson, Esq., of Beverley, Yorkshire, link.
In 1799 Robert Hudson, Esquire, of Beverley married Mrs Jane Walton of Skipwith and Robert resided at Skipwith with his new Wife. [Present at the Marriage was Jane or James Willson and S. W. Nicoll]
Previously, in June 1758 at Skipwith, Banastre Walton, Esquire, of the Parish of Colne had married by Licence, Jane Toulson. Present at the marriage were Mary Penny and George Toulson.
Robert Hudson died on the 20th April 1808 at Skipwith Hall.
In 1819, Mrs Jane Hudson of Leeds and Late of Skipwith Hall, was buried at Skipwith, 16 November 1819, aged 79 years.
Yorkshire Gazette 20 November 1819
On the 11th inst. at the house of her niece, Mrs Cottam, Leeds, aged 78, Mrs Hudson of Skipwith Hall, in the East-Riding. She was the only child of the late George Toulson, Esq. of the same place, and relict of Robert Hudson Esq. Brigade Major and Aid-de-Camp to Field Marshal the Marquis Townshend.
In March 1821, Skipwith Hall. Occupied by Mr Cottam. Land Agents Messrs Tukes & Ayer, York.
Regarding your Toulson Family, I have several interests:-
a) Robert Hudson, Esq., of Beverley
b) have you come across the name, Abraham Hodgson, died Hull 20th October 1857, aged 76, or Abraham M Hodgson, in any Toulson documentation?
c) how Mr Hood of Nettleham Hall, near Lincoln, possessed Skipwith Hall, near Selby, Yorkshire, by 1830 (Thorpe and Gray, Solicitors, York).
William Calvert, was linked to lands at Skipwith, 1820s.
Skipwith Church Memorial to Robert Hudson, 1808?
Robert Hudson, Esq., was buried in the Chancel of the Church at Skipwith, Yorkshire in 1808.
I wondered if a Memorial or engraved slab survives and if anyone could photograph the memorial please?
Mark
