Hi Fay,

Married 28 NOV 1853 to William Michael PARKER

Eliza would only have been 14, are you sure of this date?  If so, you could order the marriage certificate which would give the name of her father.

Just as a helper, I went through the marriage indexes.  There is a William Parker registered as getting married in the Dec qtr of 1853 in York, but there is no register of an Eliza Butler being married in the same period or place.

Frances Parker married ; in1841, Hon. Col. Butler, a relative of hers. They had two children. Frances; formerly Frances Mauleverer Parker Toulson. died in 1844.

The Parkers of Browsholme, Alkincoates and Skipwith, are the Parkers I am referring to.

Have much info on all three of these families,am happy to share with anyone who is interested.

William PARKER married Mary ELLIKER in York in Dec Q 1853.  It was either at the Register Office or the Registrar attended e.g. non-conformist. cf http://www.yorkshirebmd.org.uk/cgi/marrind.cgi

There are no other William Parker marriages in York in 1853.

On 1861 census a William Parker b. 1833 in York is married to Hannah - William PARKER and Hannah ORDISH married at St Mary Bishophill Junior, York in 1857, if you think this may be your couple I can look up the Parish Register for your sometime which would give fathers' details, just let me know.

All the best,

Pinetree

Hello,

Ask me and I will tell you all I know. With so much information, if you could be specific about what you'd like to know, I'd be happy to share.

Thanks,

Hello

Luddington 1804, John Parker Toulson, Esq., of Skipwith married Miss Worsop, Daughter of John A Worsop, Esq., of Howden Place.

My interest is the Robert Hudson, Esq., of Beverley, Yorkshire, link.

In 1799 Robert Hudson, Esquire, of Beverley married Mrs Jane Walton of Skipwith and Robert resided at Skipwith with his new Wife. [Present at the Marriage was Jane or James Willson and S. W. Nicoll]

Previously, in June 1758 at Skipwith, Banastre Walton, Esquire, of the Parish of Colne had married by Licence, Jane Toulson. Present at the marriage were Mary Penny and George Toulson.

Robert Hudson died on the 20th April 1808 at Skipwith Hall.

In 1819, Mrs Jane Hudson of Leeds and Late of Skipwith Hall, was buried at Skipwith, 16 November 1819, aged 79 years.

Yorkshire Gazette 20 November 1819
On the 11th inst. at the house of her niece, Mrs Cottam, Leeds, aged 78, Mrs Hudson of Skipwith Hall, in the East-Riding. She was the only child of the late George Toulson, Esq. of the same place, and relict of Robert Hudson Esq. Brigade Major and Aid-de-Camp to Field Marshal the Marquis Townshend.

In March 1821, Skipwith Hall. Occupied by Mr Cottam. Land Agents Messrs Tukes & Ayer, York.

Regarding your Toulson Family, I have several interests:-

a) Robert Hudson, Esq., of Beverley

b) have you come across the name, Abraham Hodgson, died Hull 20th October 1857, aged 76, or Abraham M Hodgson, in any Toulson documentation?

c) how Mr Hood of Nettleham Hall, near Lincoln, possessed Skipwith Hall, near Selby, Yorkshire, by 1830 (Thorpe and Gray, Solicitors, York).

William Calvert, was linked to lands at Skipwith, 1820s.

Skipwith Church Memorial to Robert Hudson, 1808?
Robert Hudson, Esq., was buried in the Chancel of the Church at Skipwith, Yorkshire in 1808.

I wondered if a Memorial or engraved slab survives and if anyone could photograph the memorial please?

Mark
