1799 KERSHAW baptism in Chorley
« on: Thursday 25 May 06 09:05 BST (UK) »
Hi, Everyone,
I don't suppose anyone has access to the baptismal records of Chorley, as I am trying to establish details of the parents of Elizabeth KERSHAW who according to the IGI was born on 09-01-1799, and then baptised on 01-02-1799 in Chorley.
I know that my ancestor, the Wesleyan Methodist minister John KERSHAW and his wife Elizabeth FREEMAN had two sons in 1801 and 1803, but I also am led to believe that he had a daughter called Elizabeth.
An indication in the parish records of his occupation would clinch things...
Very best wishes,
keith

Sheila,
This is really very kind of you, and provides a valuable morsel of extra information - do you have any local knowledge of Chorley, with regard to where Heath Charnock was/is...?
At least there is no evidence there to say that this is NOT the baptism I'm searching for, every reason that it IS the right one.
Thank you so much,
keith
