Sorry I pressed the wrong key
Anyway...
as I was saying, can't find 1841 Whitehaven census on Ancestry...if you could get someone to look in the Cumbrin Records Office you might find something.
On 1851 the only Freeman I have found in Whitehaven is
Ann Freeman b 1803 Cumberland (Servant unmarried)
HO107/2436 3 287 5
42 Market place
Whitehaven
in the household of Richard Bell (hairdresser)
There is however in Bowness in 1851
HO107/2432 9 100 23
Edward Freeman b 1803 Whitehaven, Durham (blacksmith)
Hannah Freeman b 1803 Whitehaven, Durham
and Bowness 1841
HO107/164/8
Edward Freeman b 1801 blacksmith
Hannah Freeman b 1801
Mary b 1827
Hannah b 1839
Obviously they may well not have any connection, however that birthplaec of whitehaven...Durham is an interesting entry and worth consideration don't you think?
