1901 census Harriet Pike
« on: Sunday 25 June 06 20:22 BST (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone help me please?
On the 1901 census I am looking for Harriet Pike age 25 born Wereham Nfk. She married in 1898 to John Pike at Basford, she could still be there but may have moved to another area of Nottingham.

Thankyou
Maysie

Hi Maysie

Have you already searched the 1901 census? I have spent quite a while looking for all different combinations and cannot find her anywhere in England.

I presume she is Harriett Orpah Bruce born 1875 registered at Downham.

I have tried Har(r)iet(t) Pike (Pyke) Norfolk (Suffolk).

Are you sure she was still alive in 1901? (Though I couldn't find her death either).

Maybe I am having a bad day or she is under a very mistranscribed name.

Thank you Suzard, no, my Harriett wasn't born in Bermondsey although the age is right.

Jane, you are right with the Harriet Orpah Bruce born Downham. I have searched the 1901 online and have put in everything I could think of even just Harriett!
Yes, she was still alive after 1901.

Thanks for trying.

Maysie

Hi Maysie

Was her husband still alive in 1901?
Could she have remarried?
Where was John Pike born and when?

Hi Jane

From info I have gathered, John Pike died 1921. His parents were Joseph and Sarah. I don't know his birth date, I just know that his parents lived at Bateman street, Hyson Green in 1921. It is Harriet I am interested in, I have posted help for baptisms for 3 children but no luck yet.

Hi

I was only checking her name would still be Pike and that he was still around. I have spent another couple of hours getting nowhere so I am posting another query on the Common Room for other to help us. We will crack this one.

What's his (john Pike) occupation in 1898?

If you don't have a birth year, then presuamably you don't have the marriage certificate either, so how would you confirm that they married each other?
