Hi Jane

I have just got my Grandmother Ella's birth certificate and found out that her birth mother was
Lizzie ( Elizabeth i guess) Webster  - Domestic Servant. My grandmothers adopted mother Mary Richardson was present at the birth on 16/5/1888 at  11 unthank St Middlesbrough. and Ella was registered as Ella Richardson mother Webster. Is it at all possible to find out anymore on Lizzie ? I don't know if she was born in middlesbrough but i will check out the tees index website.

Hi Jane
I have found an Elizabeth Webster born in Middlesbrough in 1874. Could you possibly see if you can find her in the 1881 , 1891 and or 1901 census. If this is her she would have been 14 when Ella was born
