WW1 discharge papers
« on: Saturday 24 March 07 20:16 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Hoping someone can help.  My ancestor James Carr LUNE enlisted in the Canadian Over-seas Expeditionary Force, in 1916.  I have found his attestation papers.  He was in the 170th Battalion,  Mississauga Horse.

What I am hoping for is to find his discharge papers or perhaps any others resources which may list him.

Would appreciate any help.

Thanks in advance

Graham

I expect you found his Attestation Papers on the Library and Archives Canada website? Won't his discharge papers be on his complete file which can be ordered up through that website?

He was born 1880 Birmingham ...virtue St.  in Toronto, with his wife Susanna..at time of his sign up...in case anyone finds more...he's down a a "conductor" so he could have been Railway or Street car...

Had you found him on the 1911 or did you want us to look?

Nevermind we've done that already...

Hi All

Thanks Imber and Janice for the advice and the links - I will follow these up.  Sorry JJ, I should have been more clear - what I'm hoping for is to find info on James after 1916.

Regards, Graham

Here is a link for the site Internet Archive.

It has Toronto City Directories into the 1920's. Unfortunately, they do not have a search engine, so you will have to go through them manually. (Hint: most of the directories listed have the streets in the first half, and are alphabetical (by Surname) in the last half.)
