Hello All,

I am new to Rootschat but it seems like a wonderful source of information. I am a descendant of the Risks of Stirlingshire and am putting together a family tree for my granny who is Shirley Risk daughter of Ralph Risk (born 1892) who was married to Margaret Robertson. If anyone on this 'Risk' group would like to share information, I would love to connect. Thanks, Clare

Greetings,
I have a small RISK line.
Margaret RISK and her six brothers.

BIRTH 30 SEP 1840 • Buchlyvie, Stirlingshire, Scotland
DEATH 12 JUN 1885 • 58 Cowan Street, Stirling, SCT

Thank you Markheal. That's been really helpful and filled a gap I had in the tree!

I have no connection with the surname but I remember that a Sir Thomas Risk was a respected governor of the Bank of Scotland (now deceased so I can mention him here).

I was quite amused at the thought of a banker being called Risk!

I see from the Guardian photo, that after a lifetime as a banker, he was lined up to devote his energies to the destitute!
