When did John go to Australia?

Hi Linda

Just thinking  :)  Knockan is right on the border of Ross-shire and Sutherland (not all that far from where I live at the moment) . So if you are searching for John and Jane's baptisms, it would be worth looking in both counties.

Could be, Joe  :)

I can't find any John, snr and Jane/Jean M(a)ckenzie at all at the moment. I'd like to hear from Linda about the emmigration before I go digging around for deaths, etc.

Jane/Jean must have been in Inverness in 1866 because of the birth.

Hi Gadget

The only 1 Mackenzie came to Australia in 1890 that was John Alexander McKenzie Jnr the son of John McKenzie & Jean McLean

Alexandrina Catherine McKenzie married Alexander Dimmack their daughter Pacifique Elleanor Dimmack she came to Austrilia in 1903 they the only two that I know so far.
