1871 Stratford New Town lookup please
« on: Wednesday 15 December 04 00:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
Would someone look up the following please:

Freiensener, Philip probably with wife Sarah Ann and possibly children.
But any Freienseners there.

In 1874 they were living at 38 Windmill Lane, New Town (which is Stratford, but I believe comes under West Ham)

Thank you
Jonathan

Cheers for that Bryant.  Saw the Freienseners in St. Georges/Stepney etc.  But I found Philip as a proprietor of a Bakers on Windmill Lane in 1874.  As I can't account for the Freienseners before 1881, thought I'd check to see if anyone could find them in the Stratford area where Windmill Lane is located.

Thanks for that.

Just rechecked (Mary Ann Craze) "rest of" at 30 Morris Street......she is lodging with her parents! it doesn't say that, but it certainly appears so!

Catherine Martin 70  Mother (of Mary)     "
Thomas Craze    15  Grandson                "

I gather you had something to do with this one below?

http://webb-erickson.rootschat.net/erickson3.htm

you could go for the earliest cert available (or have you already tried?) and see what comes out of the woodwork! in 1873

just in case you haven't tried that line?

I have noted that you are trying channels in many directions, keep going and you never know, the seeds might reap the rewards

Bingo!

Have found the Freiensener's on the 1871 census at last.

Reason I hadn't found them before?  They are listed on the census as Francini !!

This thread can be closed now.  Thanks to all.

  Hi Guy's,
Sooo sorry to open this old one up, but any chance
you have an Alfred Joseph Craze (b 1880) Mile End.

His father is Charles Craze (St Georges East) circa 1846.. and I am trying to find
        Charles  parents.
This Charles married Elizabeth (nee Bennett) in 1866 Stepney.

Other Charles children, Thomas, Minnie, Ada, Horace, William, siblings to Alfred.

        Many thanks ..  :)      Lesanne.

Hi Lesanne,

I have the Craze lot in my tree, they are inter-married with my Freiensener families.  I haven't done a lot of research on the Craze side yet, but if yours are from St George in the East/Stepney they are very likely to be the same as mine.  The Craze family of Stepney are as far as I know all one family (possibly two) and are a long line of Green Grocers in the Shadwell area.

How are you related to the Craze family?

This is the Charles you are looking for as a son with his parents I think

1861

10 Star St, St George in the East

Alfred Craze abt 1850  St George in the East, Middlesex, England Son
Ann Craze abt 1841  St George in the East, Middlesex, England Daughter
Charles Craze abt 1845  St George in the East, Middlesex, England Son
Louis Craze abt 1811  St George in the East, Middlesex, England Head
Mary Craze abt 1808  St George in the East, Middlesex, England Wife
James Goodwin abt 1856  Bethnal Green, Middlesex, England Nephew

Louis is a General Dealer.
