Hi deb, Kriss & Toni i recieved the birth certificate back this morning for John Warrick born 1839 Liskeard thinking i would get his mother Jane`s maiden name but not ??? so stopped again with what i found on William Warrick & Jane Sele ? marriage.  It states on the birth certificate Sixteenth January 1839 Liskeard Borough- John- Boy- Name & Surname of Father box empty Name Surname and Maiden Surname of Mother which says Jane Warrick Occupation of Father box empty Signature of Informant was John Godfrey Governer of Liskeard Workhouse When Registered January 1839 Signature of Registrar John Barrett Registrar.

Poor Jane was in the workhouse and where was William Warrick.  So back to square 1.    Gladys

Hi girls

Where is the Warrick thread? ... i have forgotten what was going on ... there has to be something that we can find ... to help find Jane's maiden name.

Just looking for Will Warrick in 1841 but not sure what to look for...If he was a saeman i would not have thought that Jane would have been in the Workhouse..

What year was the marriage ?

Hi I found the warrick thread  ;D

it's on the Lookups COMPLETED boards for Cornwall ..John Warrick b 1839, Liskeard ...his mother was JOANNA not JANE ..

William WArrick married JOANNA SELE?? Jan 1833

Now I am really confused ... I think we should transfer to the WARRICK thread, Gladys , so that we can refer back

Hiya deb & DJFRENCH i was just looking at the birth certificate again and its not the right one with Joanna been Johns mother as they are in Calstock 1841 census and John was born 1839 going off his age which was 2 and in 1851 census Joanna was a widow and they were in Calstock Town .   There must be another John Warrick born same year.  Gladys :)

usually if the fathers boxes were blank meant the child was illegitimate so perhaps he was a chld of Jane Warrick (by birth) and she hadn't married anyone.
