Yes but as far as I know he was still there in 1881 and mine wasnt ;;;sob

No dear , its the one I thought was mine but  ISNT   as he was still living in Trostrey in 1881 ;;;
MIne was living at Ormesby Middlesbrough s in details os census on 1st post ;;

Hello both!

I had a look for George and came up blank!

Any BAKER witnesses to the marriage Babs?  In fact, who were the witnesses - they might be step-relatives or something helpful!

The possibilities are that George used a different name on earlier censuses, that he made up his father's name or MOST LIKELY that he was in the part of Monmouthshire for which the 1861 census is missing.

Which doesn't explain where he is in 1871.

Steve have tried to pload a image of the census and marriage cert but I  carnt do it ;;;
The witness was James Playford  the bride Ellens father and Eliabeth Playford brides mother , so nothing there to go on ;;

You can't load images onto Look-up boards to prevent infringement of copyright.

Sounds as though the marriage cert isn't much help then!

No theres nothing on there no clues at all
only clues are what he has said on the census in 1881 he was 29 worked as labourer said he came from Pontypool Monmouthshire ;;;
