I have just discovered one my ancestors Charles Broadist was declared bankrupt in 1853. The following appeared in The Jurist:
insolvent debtors who have filed their petitions in the Court
of Bankruptcy and have obtained an interim order for
protection from process:
Charles Broadist, Oxford, cook, 24 Jan at 11, County
Court of Oxfordshire
Does anyone know how I can find out more please?
