That about sums it up.
 I have a marriage for a Bridget Kennedy December 1861 at St Patricks Manchester, to Francis Thompson, she states her father to be William Kennedy, ( could she have meant Wm as in Rossiter)

Francis ends up in Crumpsall Workhouse where he dies in 1882.
Meanwhile Bridget is living with a William Armstrong in 1881 and marries him in January 1883.
This time she sates her father to be James Kennedy.

Ladyhawk also found a William Rossiter in 1881 Liverpool born Ireland. Like her I couldn't find this person in 1891 & 1901 but found him in 1911 still in Liverpool single aged 55 Tannery Lab born Co Wexford.

I was posting as you were then.

Yes thanks,  Catherine Swatkins is the daughter of Bridget Kennedy, that much I do know.

I got Catherine Rossiter's death certificate hoping that the informant would be a relative, possibly Bridget / Kennedy /Rossiter. But it was signed by the Coroner, she fell down stairs whilst drunk.

It would make a good Soap Opera this story.

Just need to prove that the Bridget Rossiter in (1861 census ) is the same person who married Francis Thompson in 1861.

Hope you can follow that.

Found a marriage between Richard Swatkins to Kate Thompson in June Qtr 1880 at Manchester.

Did Catherine have any siblings at all?

Do you have the wedding certificate for Catherine and William Rossiter at all as that would give her father's name  and her maiden name?

Also the wedding certificate for Bridget to Francis Thompson would give her age and allow us to roughly calculate her date of birth.It would probably name William Rossiter as her father but might give his address or location too.

Hopefully the marriage cert for Wm & Catherine Rossiter will be with me by next week.

I  need to establish if my Bridget (Kennedy) who married Francis Thompson is the same as Bridget Rossiter on the 1861 census with William & Catherine. And the more I go over it the more convinced I become.

My Bridget states various ages.
On her marriage to Francis in 1861 she is 20, this would tie in nicely with Bridget Rossiter's age on the census.
In 1871 she is 28, in 1881 she is 34, in 1883 she 39, in 1891 she is 40 and in 1901 she is 50.
Not found her in 1911 but there are two possible deaths in 1915.
