Jean/Janet (Wilkie) Reid

Jean/Janet Wilkie married William Reid 21 May 1825 in Inverkeithing. William died 3 Nov 1868 in Inverkeithing but I cant find a death for Jean/Janet. William is alone on the 1861 census so I think Jean may have died pre 1855.

SP has 2 births for them

01/03/1829 REID JANET WILLIAM REID/JEAN WILKIE Inverkeithing /FIFE

20/02/1832 REID DAVID TEVIOTDAL WILLIAM REID/JEAN WILKIE M Inverkeithing /FIFE

David married Margaret McGreechan in 1855 but the record does not say that his mother is deceased.

There is a possible marriage for his sister Janet

Jean doesn't seem to show in 1851 unfortunately. This looks like the family entry:

  Am I following the right family Sancti. The 1841 entry looks like the ages are all over the place and no sign of Jean either:

William Reid    45, Linen H L W
Euphemia Reid    15
David Reid 2 (?)

Thanks Monica, that looks like them, the SP image has william as a widower but still strange that it doesnt mention it on Davids marriage record.

I found this birth record on SP and noticed the similarity in Davids middle name (Teviotdale)

and I also found this marriage record

Maybe son David (William and Jean) got the name from his maternal grandfather?  There is this OPR birth entry:

With the family's later move to Leith South/Edinburgh, we would have Agnes T in place to connect to that marriage entry  in 1792 in Canongate to William Reid.

That 1849 marriage for Janet to John McCallum looks likely. They don't seem to have had any children though. They are living in the High Street Inverkeithing and still there in 1861:

John McCallum    44, Quarry Labourer, b. Keelunhal CO, Argyle (I think this should read Kilmichael as in 1851)
Janet R McCallum 31, b. Inverkeithing

Can't easily see them from 1871.

I think the Angus/Leith South connection makes a lot of sense.
