If anyone comes across a Parlane McFarlane married to an Agnes Grant in the Old Kilpatrick area, give me a shout.   ;D I've been stuck at them for years. :)

I believe that Parlane had a brother named Duncan. Do you know anything of him?

Hi Heath,

I'm sorry but I know nothing about my Parlane McFarlane.  I've been at a bit of a dead end for years. I'm assuming you have a Duncan McFarlane, but what makes you think he's connected to Parlane?  Maybe between us we can work it out?

do you know anything on the family? I have found that Parlane had a brother Duncan. Found on Clan McFarlane, which can be hard to follow as there is so many Mcfarlane's there.  i am looking for a Duncan that would have travel to Australia in 1840. Believed to have been age 30 at that time.

Don't trust anything you find in an online tree. Use it as a pointer to look for a primary source. If the Clan MacFarlane web site doesn't say where the information came from, ask them where they found it.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hey there. I am currently researching my family tree.

Im wondering if there may be a connection? My Grandmother was Mary McMonagle McFarlane, married Charles Kennedy.
Mary was the daughter of Christopher Anderson McFarlane 1901 - ?? and Agnes Carroll - 1899 - 1961

Christopher's parents were George Anderson McFarlane 1859 - 1919 and Julia Anne Wilson 1856- 1943. The furthest I have been able to go back is to George's parents, Duncan McFarlane 1822 - 1893 and Catherine Anderson 1831 - ??

If anyone recognizes these names, please let me know - I'm beginning to struggle with the research :)
Dunbartonshire - Kennedy, McFarlane

Is this the marriage 1853 Cardross?

Did Duncan die in Scotland as the DC should name both parents with mother's maiden name if known to the informant?
