My Great Great Grandad was called Thomas Edmondson. He married Mary Hawkins in Cumberland in about 1832/3,
He also was in the Matilia when he was about 19,in Cumberland,
The children they had were.William, born 1833,Jane,Margaret,born in Cumberland, they then had John born Liverpool, On the 1841 census his mother Cecilia was living with them in liverpool  They then went France where Hanna  born 1844 and my Great Granmother Cecilia born 1846/7
They then went to Scotland 1851 census, but all ages are wrong,
He then returned to Manchester in 1861 they had had another child born in Scotland? called Thomas born 1852 .
If anyone can help I am looking for Thomas birth, born 1809/11
Thank you mbra

Can't help really but thought you might not be aware that in 1841 most ages were rounded down to the nearest 5 so that might explain why they are different in 1851.
What place of birth is given for him on the later census?

1861 says that Thomas was born in Scotland.
1841 also has him and all/most of the family born Scotland.
1851 Scotland has him born Dumfries Scotland

Hi Heywood
I think there is a record in cumberland.but i do not know how to have a look at it,or how to can find it.
In 1841 thomas and family are living in liverpool, with thomas mother Cecilia.cecilia and hannah.have not been born.they must have moved to scotland and left cecilia ,thomas mother there .her name is spelt cecily on the 1841 census
On the 1851 census they are living in Glasgow in a tenements.
they had come back from France,as cecilia and Hannah was born there
On Cecilia's Thomas mother death certificate, in 1850 liverpool her son James who lived in liverpool is named, and her husband s name is James a musician hope you can help

Hi

I thought it was Cumberland records that were being asked for, heywood.

What exactly do you want to find out about in Scotland, mbra?

Added - I've revisited them on the 1851 and also checked for baptisms for Thomas again in Dumfries but nothing is showing there
