                   Richard B Ballard on 1901 census as an Engine driver stretford Lanc !!

Hi,
could you look up these men:
Robert Wilson (1841 Highwood Essex) Railway Labourer at Shorne Kent (1881, 1891 and 1901) But also 1871?
Albert Thomas Wilson (1866 Higham Kent) worked also for the SER (somewhere between 1882 and 1898?).

Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.

The name is William Smith and he was Station Master in the early 1800's probably near Ullingswick or the Herefordshire area.I'm sorry,i don't have many more details about him.Thank you...

Suttontrust - what a fine offer. I have someone whose entry into the railways I can pinpoint almost exactly - Tom or Thomas Southern, railway servant, 1901, possibly at Symond's Yat Station in the Forest of Dean, GKS. [1901 census, a railway servant - 1900 marriage a labourer].
Please see what you can do.
Southern or Southan [Hereford , Monmouthshire & Glos], Jenkins, Meredith and Morgan [Monmouthshire and Glos.], Murrill, Damary, Damry, Ray, Lawrence [all Middx. & London], Nethway from Kenn or Yatton. Also Riley and Lyons in South Africa and Riley from St. Helena.

Thanks for the offer - wonder if it goes as late at the 1940's?

My Uncle,  James Bateman [born 1902]worked as a engine driver at Hitchen Herts - he took me one the footplate about 1950 - just after he was invalided out of the railways - it would be nice to have any details you had of him. I think he was on the railways for quite some time.

Hiya Suttontrust I would be grateful if you could find any of the following for me

Charles Henry Bowkett - b 1867 - railway inspector
Alfred Smith Harris - b 1852 - railway worker
Charles Bowkett - b 1826 - engine tender
George Bowkett - b 1906 - railway electrician

Charles Henry and George Bowkett lived in Wolverhampton as did Charles although he was born in Ledbury, Worcs.

Alfred lived in Droitwich
