Hello Gaie, thanks for the info. It doesnt matter who finds it as long as it all makes sense and is what we are looking for. All I can say is Thank God for people like you who are willing to help others to find their past. I have had so much help from a couple of people on here,(and continue to get help) I never would have found anything without you all. Many thanks.

Tillymum- things are now better and worse since I did some checking this morning. Will outline what I found briefly before I go out shortly.

John Wilson married 1868 Elizabeth Dysart. His father was Alexander Wilson! Lots of children:
1. Martha Jane (1868-from IGI-submitted)
2. Mary Anne born 2 Jan.1870
3. Martha Jane born 16 Sept.1872
4. Alexander (1876-from IGI)
5. Elizabeth born 25 May 1877
6. John born 26 June 1878
7. James born 11 May 1881 (James D. Wilson in 1911 Canadian census).
8. Hugh born 2 Mar.1886 (married Kathleen Troy)

James John Wilson married 1889 Elizabeth/Lizzie McNeill and had:
1. Martha born 12 Aug.1889
2. William Alexander born 12 July 1892
3. George born 8 Apr.1894
4. David born 13 Nov.1897
5. Daniel White born 15 June 1900
6. Robert born 25 June 1903 and his twin sister
7. Elizabeth born 25 June 1903

Suspect George (1894) was the one listed on Terrace Row Roll of Honour but not sure if all the details about him in Coleraine book are correct (think records of 2 different George Wilsons have gotten tangled up there)

1925- David Wilson, Garden Court, Portrush and Daniel Wilson, Woodbine Terrace, Coleraine.

Hello aghadowey - I've been sitting here working out the ages of the children from the first marriage to see how old they were when John married Lizzie McNeill (my g.grandmother). My goodness didnt they have a lot of children. This is all beginning to make sense. I spoke to my mum this morning, she can only remember that there was a big family rift and something to do with Canada and that someone died in WW1. She said her father never spoke about family. The Canada connection is all falling into place as well. We are astounded to learn that my Grandad (David Wilson) had so many brothers and sisters that we knew nothing about. The only one I ever met was Danny and I was only 5 at the time so dont really remember him. (there must be a skeleton in the closet there with his name being Daniel White - mum said she remembered him being called Daniel White Wilson).I wonder what happened to all the step brothers and sisters. Think I'm gonna have to post a new message asking for descendants. You've been really busy on my behalf, thank you very much.

Haven't finished digging up all the Wilsons yet. Daniel was Daniel White Wilson not Daniel White- only one of that family who is listed with a middle name.
Will try to sort out the problems with George Wilson later.
In view of you mother's comments about a family rift it explains what was (and wasn't) in the newspaper when Robert died in 1925.
If you send me a pm with your email address I'll send you the full details of what I found this morning.
