At last an episode in the British Isles, Scotland and Bexhill  ;D ;D  Very interesting, and there seems to be a theme growing here - family documents and what fantastic information Fiona gleaned from them as well.  Lucky thing!

Lowly fishermen, almost as good as Ag Labs, that'll do for me!  ;D ::)

Yes...lovely to see a UK-based WDYTYA...she has a lot to be proud of, I think.

They must have ran out of time, as they could have gone another generation back with the Bruce's.

George Bruce son of George Bruce and Elspet Geddes, christened 25th Nov 1804, Rathven, Banff, Scotland.

I'm sure they could have gone a bit further back.

I enjoyed the programme, wish I could find such interesting documents, but then I don't have the backing of the BBC and unlimited funds for researchers. ::)

I really enjoyed this week. It was one of those programmes where I wished there was a Part 2, to look at the ancestors we didn't see. It was good to see some Scottish history included too.

Did they say Fiona's mother was adopted? Got no personal interest in this, but I'd very much like to see adoption included in a future programme.

I thought it a shame that the school didn't return the notification of death to the family along with other documents. I noted that the archivist passed comment on that. I think he would have preferred her and the family to have them back. What use are they to the school now? The school could keep copies IMHO and return the originals.

I just love Fiona Bruce too  ;D ;) my heart goes boom bitty boom bitty boom bitty boom.....
