hi mary
thomas and margarets children were pat .b.20/02/1861 mary .b.20/9/1862 elizabeth 12/6/1865 john 26/6/1868 and james my grandfather born 13/11/1870 so i think there marraige would have been late 1850 till 1860 realy looking to trace back my family  further then thomas and find out who his parents where. but finding it very difficult as so many  records are unreadable in parts and all seem to be the ones relating to my family would really be grateful for any help you can give me.
                                               regards

What religion were the families? Civil registration of Catholic marriages began 1864 (other marriages from 1845) so if they were Catholic there will be no marriage certificate and you'd have to search for church records, of they exist.

IGI lists the family as Holliwood-
Betty born 12 June 1865 Co. Armagh (not Elizabeth)
John born 26 June 1868 Co. Armagh
James born 12 Nov.1870 Co. Armagh (not 13 Nov.)
Bridget born 29 Oct.1876 Newry district

If you read my previous post you will see that civil registration of births started in 1864 so before that date there will be no birth certificates. As the family were Catholic and parents probably married before 1864 there will be no marriage certificate (unless they were married in a Registry Office).

Forkill civil parish is in Newry Poor Law Union. LDS catalogue shows they've microfilmed Parochial Registers of Forkhill 1844-1879. The chapel seems to be in Mullaghbrack and the present name of the parish is Mullaghbawn.

There's no way of knowing how much detail are in the church records until you actually look at them.
