Sayers of Uckfield.

I have a relation Arthur Sayers from Uckfield married Constance ? born 1892 in Canterbury Kent. Am unable to find her maiden name and therefore can't pursue this side of the family any further. They went on to have  a son Frank who later married Grace Kenward.
Any leads or info would be great.

Do you know what year Frank was born?  Birth registration at this point shows mother's maiden name I think.

If you look on FreeBMD.org.uk for a birth in Sussex there is one possibilty however we do need to be wary as he may be still living.

Hi, Babs back again.
Have found probable surname for Constance Williams? born c 1892. I'm not sure now if she comes from Kent or not. She married Arthur Sayers from Cuckfield/Uckfield area- don't have the marriage date. Have found marriage of Arthur Sayers in Sep 1910, but can't tie it up with Constance anywhere!
Not sure if I'm following the right trail or not. Help please?

Cuckfield and Uckfield are not that close.  Which is it?  Both are registration districts that cover quite a wide area.
Where is your original information from?

I had a look at the marriage for Arthur Sayers in 1910 but there is a corresponding spouse not called Constance.

In fact I couldn't find a marriage for Constance Williams at the right time in Sussex or Kent.

I think we need to establish what you know as fact here.    How is Arthur related to you???   What other members of the family do you have facts about births etc for?
 I have tried looking for a Sayers/Kenward marriage and though there are two possibles in the 1920s neither has the right first names.
Is Frank still alive?   If not his death record will give a year of birth so that will help.   If he is alive then we cannot post details about him.

Are you sure on Arthur's first name?

m. DecQ 1916, Tendring RD, 4a, 1366a, Frank E. SAYERS & Connie A. WILLIAMS

Tendring is up on the Essex coast.  They could then be the parents of this Frank:

b. JunQ 1917, Thanet RD, 2a, 1606, Frank A. SAYERS, mother's maiden name WILLIAMS.

(but there are sixteen births of Sayers with mother's maiden name Williams in England between 1916 and 1946, many of which are in Cuckfield district, suggesting there was more than one Sayers / Williams marriage).
