1891/1901 census CHAMBERS family- COMPLETED
« on: Monday 02 March 09 04:28 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I am looking for any information on the CHAMBERS family from greasley, nottingham. I know that there are at least 2 James CHAMBERS, one with the date of birth 30.06.1892, the other (his grandfather) unknown.

I am new so I hope I have done this correctly.

Thank you in advance for any help. :)

haven't located himin 1891 yet
but this looks like his father edward with family

I don't know if you are familiar with the area - but Brookhill leys comes within greasley parish -as does Hill Top and newthorpe

1881
(you can see this free at family search

1881
brookhill leys newthorpe Notts
james Chambers head Widower 46 Coal Miner selston Notts
george son 19 coal miner
mary daughter 17
EDWARD son 14
benjamin son 12
Eliza A daughter 10
all children b greasley Notss
RG11 3322 38 43

1871
Hill Top Newthorpe notts
james Chambers head m 37 banksman Eastwood Notts
Elizabeth wife 32 Selston Notts
John W son 11 scholar Eastwood
George son 9 eastwood
Mary daughter 7 Eastwood
Edward son 4 Hill Top
Benjamin son 2 Hill Top
Elizth daughter 3 mths Hill Top
RG10 3478 32 33

(it llooks like Elizabeth (wife of james ) was b selston area - and not James - think the enumerator must have made a mistake in 1881

However I was told James' mother was Mary Christian (no DOB) and that Edward and Mary were married 15.08.1891, although I dont know where this information came from  :(, I was also told there was a sister of James called Alice
