« on: Wednesday 22 April 09 14:55 BST (UK) »
I am interested in Lucrecia Jane ELLIOT b abt 1828 and her parents, John b abt 1800, d1871 and his wife Priscilla b abt 1800 d1862. All locations Chard.

I would like to know the precise dates of the life events and Priscilla's maiden name. Could anyone help please? Many thanks. Neil Follett.

Hello Neil,

A marriage at Chard, St Mary the Virgin, on 22/09/1819, John Elliott and Priscilla Pavey.

Some of the Chard Parish Registers have been transcribed and are on http://www.freereg.org.uk

Cannot find baptisms for John, Priscilla, or Lucrecia.

Jo

Neil

The full extent of their family in 1841 shows 'Herbert' aged 2 who appears to be the child named Allan Herbert baptized 28 March 1839 at Chard St Mary.  Parentage:  John Marwood & Priscilla ELLIOTT of Chard Bor:  Gardener.

I suspect the parents were Nonconformists as marriages and burials were conducted in Chard but the above was the sole baptism recorded at Chard St Mary for their issue, perhaps in a life threatening situation?

In 2002 I was in correspondence with another researcher pursuing WILMOT & ELLIOTT in Chard and, as a consequence, I extracted many events from the PRs for her.  If you would like the ELLIOTT extracts, I suggest you send your email address to me in a PM.

The original poster has not been on here since 2011 so you may not get a reply from them.
