Hi

With a General Election in prospect here in the UK, which of the parties is most 'genealogically friendly', and what policies would you like to see the winning party persue that would aid us in our researches?

I don't think any of them are particularly 'friendly' in any way!

I might vote for one which promised to abolish cooking, cleaning, washing, etc., so that I could spend more time doing what I really want to do!

Phah!

What would I do as prime minister would get me locked up.

I'd bring back the workhouses for a start...  :o

I'd bring back free milk, and make engineering a mandatory subject in secondary schools (or come to think of it, just make it a subject in schools).

I'd also add a public jury to the council planning meetings...

No - don't vote for me as prime minister!
Trystan :) :) :)

Hello Trystan,

Oh you do make me chuckle  ;D ;D

Trystan read a chapter on Workhouses in one of our books and kept piping up.. "do you know that....." I think that means we are reeling him... ;)

We went to visit a well known Manchester Museum last year which had a board you could post your reply to social questions. Trystan was quite shocked when In big pen I re-suggested the workhouse.

 ;)

Blimey yes and kids working for their parents at 8yr old, it is sounding more like the UK Genealogy Party as a leader in Trystan:)
