ss remeura?
« on: Wednesday 19 August 09 00:25 BST (UK) »
Hi everyone,

I am trying to find a shipping list for the Remeura about 1922/23.

I am looking for James Grant KIDD.

He was my grandfather who emigrated form Scotland, unfortunatly all his papers were lost , the thing is we are not totally sure that the Remeura is the right ship, it is a vague memory from my Dad.

James arrived at Lyttleton.

I have been unable to find a shipping list. any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for reading

Hi Leandra

Have you tried looking at the passenger indexes at the "findmypast" website ?

Hi Leandra

No, passenger indexes are free to view (but "pay to view" should you wish to obtain the image).

Hmmm ... I just had a very quick look and couldn't see him (as J.G. KIDD) arriving in NZ  ... but there is a "possible" arriving in Sydney ??  May be just listed as "James" or "Jas" ?     But will leave it to you to have a closer look.   :)

[Not sure if we're allowed to post the actual web address here for FindMyPast ... but a "google" search will easily locate it.]   :)

Hope you have some luck.

Lu

Thanks for advising, Andrea.    :)

[As usual, it would save a lot of unnecessary effort, if listers alerted us to that fact that they had also posted elsewhere on the same topic.]

Cheers

So Sorry Rootschatters,

I apologise for posting on two boards,  no excuse except for hedging my bets,
I will not let it happen again.

Very embarrassed
