Harry Pearson born 1864 Piddington

Hello,

I am trying to find Harry Pearson born 1864 in Piddington.

Harry was baptised in Piddington to Elizabeth Pearson on 27 Apr 1864. No fathers name was given. I believe Elizabeth Pearson then married Benjamin Rivett in Piddington on 13 July 1868. It then looks like in the 1881 census that Harry has taken the Father's surname Rivett but after that I can't find him.

Can anyone help me please?

Have you looked at RG12/1200, F15, P7?

The family is living in Northampton at 83, St. James Road and is transcribed as follows on a well known site:

Harry PEARTON, head, married, age 27, labourer, born Piddington, Northants
Emma PEARTON, wife, married, age 21, born Ravensthorpe, Northants
Elizabeth Ellen PEARTON, daughter, single, age 2, born Northampton
Thomas BOUNDS, lodger, single, age 18, shoemaker, born Ravensthorpe, Northants

I know it's probably obvious from the reference, but it was the 1891 census I checked.   Sorry I forgot to say so.

Looking at the BMDs I can't find a marriage for Harry and Emma.

There is a birth registration for Elizabeth Ellen PEARSON in Q1 1889 at Northampton.

Diana if Harry reverted back to his birth surname it looks good.

I searched for his marriage under PEARSON & RIVETT, but didn't get anywhere.   Maybe you can work your magic!!

Hi Diana.

You can work your magic as good as me. 

I think they may be a clue in the 1891 census you noted.

Thomas Bounds had a sister Emma, both from Ravensthorpe
and you note him as lodger on that census.

They are a bit out on ages, yet I am sure they are the same folk.

Therefore I believe Emma's maiden name to be BOUNDS.

I have looked at marriages for Emma BOUNDS and can't find one that fits either!

Maybe they lived as man and wife, without the marriage ceremony. 

Or got missed off the indexes at the G.R.O.
