I´ve just e-mailed you, Nigel, but thought I´d send a message here, too. I´m very interested to hear that your father may have served in `B´ Company (called "No. 3 Company, `B´ Support Group" on the Anzio Beachhead. I´m sure that if he mentions a few names of his mates or his NCOs/officers, I would soon be able to establish in which Company he served. Or even a photo of his mates might do it.

My uncle Bernard (B.H.) [Rob] RICHARDSON was an officer in the regiment in Nigeria and then DDay+1.  A brilliant sportsman - cricketer, soccer and rugby player.  Said at one time to have been the youngest Major in the British Army for what it is worth.    Also my Father in law William (W.A.) [Angus] WATSON was attached to the regiment as an RASC Captain in Nigeria - also a cricket nut.
Anyone with knowledge of these times ?

My father served in the Middlesex Regiment at the end of WW2 but never went to war. He then was posted over seas to Egypt.

Would anyone be able to direct me with respect to finding out further information about the action seen by 2/7 Middlesex Regiment during WW2? I know that my Grandfather was injured on Peter Beach in January 1944 where his war ended. But I'd like to know where he would have been before Italy? Many thanks, Jo

Dear all

In amongst my collection of "unknown" photographs inherited from relatives, I've got a picture of five soldiers on and around a cart bearing "7th Middlesex Regiment".  Can anyone help identify help identify whether this is WW1 or WW2?  (I'm sure this is very obvious, but I've no experience).  I can e-mail the photo if you send me a private message.

Also, are there any records on-line of who was a member of the 7th Middlesex Regiment?

Many thanks

Doug
