Hi everyone,
I really appreciate all your help so quickly,
Andy you have hit the nail on the head, my mistake really as it was my grandmother Ellen Robinson who died 27th May 1938 and my grandfather D’Arcy Robinson 15th February 1953 and possibly they are in the same plot? I am coming to Halifax in April  for my son’s wedding so hopefully I can see this grave again.

Regards

Pat (Patrick)

Hello Pat,
I have had a stroll round King Cross Meth's graveyard today and found the grave.
It is in a cleared section and there is a stone, albeit a bit hard to read as it is Granite.
The grave is very easy to find and is near the main road.
If you need any more pictures in higher resolution, or a map, just PM me with your email adress.
Regards,
Andy

Just this morning, someone sent me a photograph of the chapel (dated around 1900) which shows the burial ground and the 1822 chapel.

You can see this on my Calderdale Companion website at

Thought I remembered someone looking for burials at the Ebeneezer chapel
so when I had a look at a recent posting by Malcolm Bull and found this link
http://www.calderdalecompanion.co.uk/kk_109.html
I realised that it might be still relevant to this post
it explains that the remains were re-interred at Stoney Royd in 1883

Hi, im new to this hence the user name but can anyone help me locate a grave in this cemetry. Im trying to find the grave of my great grandmother Betty Gomersal who died aged 61 in 1899, Halifax.  telephoned Melias and they have given me the grave number as 450 in the King Cross Methodist graveyard. The lady I spoke to said this grave was in the 'old Graveyard' ?? I asked where abouts that was but she didnt know and Mr Melia was on holiday.
I have other relatives burried in a family grave who passed in 1940's and which I have found to be located towards the bottom of the graveyard (where you come through the 'snicket' at the side of the methodist church and it joins a pathway which runs along the top of what I would deep as to the left the bottom part of the grave yard, there are big gates here and a little futher along on the left is a small gate where the graves are in steps leading downward.
Im assuming the 'old part' of the graveyard is at the top adjacent to where the 'snicket' runs and if walking down from the main road (with the fire station opposite) can be located on the left??
I hope my feable attempt at dircetions makes sense to anyone knowing this graveyard that may be able to help me out here.
