Help with Wills pre 1835

Hello

Could someone please help me with wills pre 1835 to be exact pre 1740.  I know one was left but I do not know where to look.  The area is Leigh (Lancs) which I would have thought comes under LRO but I am not sure ???  I have looked previously but no joy.

Have you looked on the Lancashire Will site?

When I saw the website I realized I have been on the site before and I did find the name and details I wanted.  All the wills for the name I want are on LDS film, which I am unable to see (time & travel).  I was wondering if it was possible to get them online.

I get baffled by it all and in this case I am like the horse that needs to be led to water ::)

I've been able to get copies of the wills I was interested in from the Lancashire Records Office at Preston; in fact, it was staff at the records office that told me about this site.  If you email them with the details they will be able to give you a quote for sending you a photocopy of the will which I think is about £5.00.  They aren't available on line.  Hope that helps.

When I checked the Ancestry site it did say they were at Cheshire Wills & Inventories, so presumably I contact them and not LRO.  This is what I mean, I get very confused.  I have looked on the Cheshire website for the wills but they are not on ???

I will check again, I know they have online wills, but my rellies seem to be evading me.
