Standing towards the back of the graveyard but facing the Columba Club. Two photos one taken at the start of winter 2008 and one October 2009 – the stones generally are deteriorating  quite quickly.

McArthur - Stone Now No Longer Visible – unable to locate it October 2009

In previous years it was lying broken towards the back of the grave-yard, hopefully some one will be able to fill in the blanks. This is an old photo. I am wondering if it is somehow connected to the Clark family (Paisley Mills) or Tower Rais. Tower Rais was once owned by the Clark family and I think the owner was married to a McArthur.

What I could make out:-

Died 19th Mar ------------ (not sure as weeds had grown through the break in the stone)
James McArthur

Died 14th June 1898 (or 1899) aged 88 years”

I tried to confirm the dates for James McArthur on SP, but alas I could not find a match, so if anyone thinks it is a different inscription, please update this.

Many thanks for doing this - seems only time I ever get out that way is on me way to EK on way back down south!

The Connelly one I will def have a wee bit look at cos they could be one of ours - that being my family name and my dad is from Barrhead tho we spell ours OLLY rather than ELLY. Also most of them are in Neilston cem but ya never know! I do have some I can't account for so.......

Please note:
From Scotlands People:-
William McInally death in 1882 aged 33 is recorded as William McEnelly.
William McInally death in 1890 aged 9 is recorded as William McNally, but it definitely looks like McInally on the gravestone
Charles Lappin death in 1901 he is 31 on SP, but gravestone appears to be 33.

Also from Scotlands People
There is a death of a Hannah Lappin 1907 in Barrhead & Levern but listed as 31 years old.
A Hannah Lappin dies aged 1 in 1911. but no mention on any visible stones.

A small stone on your left hand side if you could enter through the original gates, walk about seven spaces in from the gate and it is just behind a large tree.
