Actually, I have just discovered that one of my ancestral branches came from may have come from from Exton, but no one seems able to help  :'(

That's my relly going for a holiday in Burmuda ;D ;D
 but I don't think its the ones I was looking for in Stamford,  ???

If I had known about yours , I would have looked at the headstones when I went round the Exton graveyard.

Hi again Eilleen

Just to confuse matters even more I've come across the burial as being on the 28 June 1849 for William Exton age 77

Place of burial: Stamford Baron,  Dedication: St Martin

This was an NBI Source with the county shown as Northamptonshire.
St Martins in Stamford was also know as Baron and is I believe that small section of the town that used to just jut into Nothants.

I knew that south of the Welland wasn't in Lincs but without thinking said it was Rutland.  Doh!

The date (but not the year) of the burial you found looks right for Eilleen's man.  I've seen dates out by a year before in the NBI.  I expect that's the case in this instance.
