The Morrison Family from Newry
« on: Sunday 22 November 09 12:34 GMT (UK) »
I have posted my family info here before & was hoping that someone may be able to confirm if I'm on the right track. One of the readers on the forum finally figured out my family (I think)
Starting at the earliest info I have :

1) JOHN MORRISON - Ardkeeragh, Newry, Co Down

2) Son JOHN 1738-Aug 10, 1817, married Jane, died July 21, 1808

3) Their sons -
A) JOHN Morrison 1786-1828, married Henrietta Sillery
   children - Matilda 1819 / Jane 1821 / John Sillery 1825 / Anna 1827
This is my family who all came to Canada

B) Samuel  who married Mary Orr
children - 1) Dr John Morrison 1804-1880, married Anne Marshall
                        - Marion (Hayes)
                        - Jane Martin Morrison
                        - Anna (Lucas)
                        - William 1837-1912 (lived in U.S.A.)

                 - 2) Jane 1805
                 - 3) Mary 1807
                 - 4) Elizabeth 1809

I am looking for any info to confirm that this is the way the tree goes. I thought that my John Morrison was the son of Dr John Morrison but I now think they were nephew/uncle.
If anyone can confirm this info I would be very greatful as I am trying to get a family book ready for a Christmas gift to my in-laws.
I will thank you in advance for any help that anyone may be able to offer.
Dr John Morrison + Matilda Henrietta (Sillery) Morrison
Newry + Dublin, Ireland
Walker + Gill - Derbyshire, England
