Can anyone find which woman married George Stead please???

I am looking for a marriage of a George Stead to a Sophia anywhere

Also can anyone find George Stead of Allerton, Yorks on 1851 and 1861 census's please.

He next appears on 1871  in Southwark  Midd/London as Stead of Allerton, Yorks Tailor
but 1881 as Shead of Alliton, Yorks. Tailor. Both 71/81 with wife Sophia???

Any info would be most appreciated.

According to the Yorkshire BMD online, George Stead married Caroline Taylor and Sophia Chadwick married Joseph Burton. Would that fit with the other male name you saw?

On one entry it states both women but only George Stead
On other entry it states both women, George Stead and Joseph Burton

Is there any other marriages for a George Stead/Shead to a Sophia???

Sophia Stead, 1824, born Bermondsey, Surrey

Living with them, niece, Caroline Wood, aged 8, Rotherhide, Surrey

Unfortunately it is not clear whether she is George's niece or Sophia's. If I was to edge my bets given her birth place I would say Sophia's but that at the moment that is to be taken lightly.

So there is a possibility seeing George is down this area (Southwark St John Horsleydown, Surrey), and Sophia was from Surrey, that he married down here.

I will see what I can find. Cannot see them in 1861 yet

Thanks for the link, I'm not sure but I think this may be George in 1861, I really cannot make out the birth place although it is transcribed as Wales too many other things fit right for him. What do you think?

I can only find a Sophia Stead age 38 on 1861 cen at Watford, can you see what
it states about her??

do you think I am correct with the IGI bap for George Stead??

Caroline Wood is the mother of Caroline Isabella Mowsar - see her board link, so George and Sophia
looked after one neice then looked after a great neice !!!
